Oi, what do you mean people like me? RUDE!

I have a question about the security hole mentioned in the first post. Is it simply that the passwords are stored un-encrypted in the database? Or is it more involved than that?

Cowtoon is a great example of how not to code a server, a server than needs a seperate php file to connect clearly has issues....
Its not hard to code a odbc connector into it lmao.

Okay so I have a problem and I dont know if it just me or the file but when I download the .zip and go to extract it it says that it cant be done because there are no files to extract. :S I dont know what to do. Help me?

I just tried the download link again and it extracts all the files. Which file extractor are you using?

I'm still having problems with extracting the files to get to the other files... should I download WinZip or something?

try winrar it unzipped it for me

If you dont have easyPHP installed in the path it says it wont work

Since Cowtoon's website has been closed for about a year now and the owner has decided not to leave any trace of himself, I don't think I'll get any threatening phone calls after if I release the source code.

This is Cowtoon version 2.0. It's still fairly buggy, but relatively simple to customize. For a better understanding of how to edit the source code to it's full extend check out the file "developer_guide.pdf" in the zip file.

Requirements:

• You must have Adobe Flash installed to edit the client.
• You must have port 10026 opened on your server. Many web hosts do not have this port opened, so be sure to contact them about it.
• Cowtoon uses an xml socket server.
• Read the "install_guide.pdf" for a detailed guide on how to install it through cpanel or from your computer directly.

Disclamer:
There are many free versions of this source code that can also be found around the web. Jack So (cowtoon owner) disappeared without notice or any closure information on his website. Jack So left no contact e-mail, phone number, or address for his clients, and his e-mail has been disconnected.
If for whatever reason the owner of Cowtoon wishes to resell his product, this free download link will be removed, and in order to have a valid license you must purchase it through the Cowtoon owner directly.
