Hello everyone,

I hope some of you are still alive and read this thread. We'd really appreciate some feedback before moving forward. We are moving into the design phase for our first planet environment. Originally, and with the Flash version of PG - we created a futuristic city in a desert.

We were planning on sticking with that theme, but something about it always bugged me. When we introduce new planets, I'd like them to also introduce an entirely new theme. This will show players that it's not just space or sci-fi themed. I want Port Galaxy to have a huge variety of choices and themes for players. So, having a 'futuristic city' does not really move too far from the sci-fi/space theme. Therefore, I am asking you all once again to suggest a better theme!

Here are some choices to help you decide!
'mysterious' ruins of a lost civilization (ancient, jungle theme)
Non-futuristic village or towns
An underwater civilization
A city/town hidden in ice or snow

Or suggest your own idea. Or, if you like the idea of a futuristic city in a desert, let us know, if enough people opt for that we may continue in that direction.

I like the idea of like a wizard-type village with a castle, night time and you can explore the castle ect. Large forests that you can explore with tiny houses, one thing I don't like about a game is boundaries. I like the idea of saying meet me out in the forest, rather then making it so easy to just switch from room to room. It makes it a lot more realistic and more unique.

Thanks for the suggestion Colin, we'll keep it in mind for a future planet for sure. Probably not the first one though.

And I agree entirely with you on the boundaries. 3D lets us have bigger spaces but we're still somewhat limited if we want to enhance performance. It's a trade off sort of thing, where players with gaming computers (good graphics cards, fast internet connection, etc) could play in bigger more detailed spaces easily, where as those on laptops or slower computers may have issues with lag.

Very exciting update on all of this soon
