Interview with Erin - Fusion City Guide

Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are, your community, and your position there?

Alrighty, I am Erin and I work as a volunteer guide at Fusion City LLC. As a guide I assist citizens with various general questions on BETA and on the forum.

Favorite foods? Drinks? Movies? TV shows? Songs?

My favourite food would have to be pizza. Personally I like store bought pizza but if I were to have take out pizza I would rather Toppers Pizza. As for drinks it is Diet Pepsi all the way for me. My favourite movies would be; Catch Me If You Can, Four Brothers, Derailed and Insideman. As for TV shows I enjoy Prison Break, 24, The Simpsons and Yes, Dear. There's a reason these tables are numbered honey you just haven't thought of it yet - Panic! At The Disco

What would be your accomplishments up to this point?

Well, I have become a Fusion City Guide and that is something I am very proud of. I would have to say that that is my greatest accomplishment so far. It is also always an accomplishment when I am able to go out each day and help the citizens of Fusion City!

Any failures you'd like to mention?

I really do not think that Fusion City has reached any failures at this point in time. Hopefully it will not be a problem in the future either.

How did you find out about Fusion City?

I had heard about Fusion City months before I had actually joined the community. I had heard about Fusion City from a few friends who were looking into it at the time. In July of 2005 a few friends and I decided to join the community forums! Ever since that day I have remained a part of the community.

How would you describe the community aspect of Fusion City?

The Fusion City community is amazing! The community has really shaped what Fusion City is today. We are all very close and we continue to grow in numbers daily. I think that the community has really pulled through a lot of ups and downs which is something that everyone should be proud of.

Why did you apply/accept a position at Fusion City? How long were you there for before you became a guide? What do you think got you that position?

Well, I had been apart of the Fusion City community for roughly three months when I was offered a guide position. I accepted the position because although I had only been apart of the community for a short time I was drawn into the community and felt right at home. I think that the friendly staff, security and guides helped me feel that way about the community. I really admire what guides and security do every day for the Fusion City community and I was looking forward to being able to help others as well.

Are there any other MMOCCs/chat rooms/forums you work at? Which ones?

No, I do not work at any other MMOCCs/chat rooms or forums at the moment.

How would you describe your moderation style?

As a guide I do not moderate the city in anyway. However when I am helping others I listen to the question or concern very carefully and think of all my options. From there I try to give the citizen the best answer for that individual. As a guide I think that it is important we remember every citizen has his or her own needs.

Tell us something we don't already know about you.

Fusion City has helped me decide what I would like to do for the rest of my life. Fusion City has influenced me and has shown me that I can do anything I set my mind to.

Any advice to those wanting to start their own virtual chat?

I would advise them to be sure that they have enough time, effort and money to put into the project. Also be sure you look, listen and learn as you develop your virtual chat. Be sure you are aware that there will be ups and downs. Other then that, I wish the best of luck to all developing communities out there!

Where do you see the MMOCC market in ten years?

I see the MMOCC market increasing graphics and feature wise greatly. I think that many new ideas will form and many new talents will appear all over the market. I hope to see it developing greatly as it is at this time.

Where do you see Fusion City in ten years?

Fusion City is developing quickly and I am very glad to see it progressing at a steady rate. As I see it Fusion City will be in public release and have many new and exciting features. I think that Fusion City will go very far and hopefully continue progressing in the future.

What does the future hold for Ms. Erin?

I hope that some day I will be able to assist the community on a different level, as security at Fusion City. I also hope to work towards my goal of one day working as a marketing executive. Hopefully one day I will go to school for that!
