Partial Transparency

Is there a file format that will allow Partial Transparency. Like if I had a Blow-Up Couch piece of furniture make it so that it has partial transparency and can be placed anywhere and have that transparency work?

I think I know what you mean. In Fireworks 8 (better than Photoshop for so many reasons [: ) there's an option that lets you adjust the transparency of a whole image. All you do is import the image to the page (make sure the page has no background, i.e. it's transparent), select it and move the transparency slider down until it's at the required level.


Then you just save it as a .gif, I think.

Using photoshop it's simple. When you create the new file make sure the background is set to Transparent. Then paste your image then edit the transparency of the one layer. Save as a .gif and your set.

save it as .png for partial transparency, .gif doesn't do that

Ha, we both did a wonderful job.

@Smile .gif is the best format for an image. It does allow transparency
