Layout in Photoshop

I made this in photoshop, my first layout in photoshop.

I made it for Dale (hummer) and my mate Taylor. No reply yet if they are using but here it is:

Rate/Slate

The content areas don't appeal to me too much. What's with the random splat brushes? They don't look too good in my opinion neither. I like the background, and the custom shape is alright, but apart from that it definitely needs a lot more work.

its decent, i dont like content areas, but cant complain. 6/10

Really not feeling this template at all, the headers look out of place, the splats look terrible, especially with the filter effects or whatever you've added to them.

The layout idea is good, I think the title should be above the content area to make it stand out more, and the footer is well positioned.

Could look better with content perhaps, I have no idea.

Well done for attempting it though, especially as its a first, keep trying, well done.

Maybe go for a style like that. I'm not sure the text fits with the background colour, but experiment and try not to add to many effects...

As for brushing, try not to "over-do" it and make sure it fits in nicely.
