Racism :(

For the record, I love my parents.

Well, for the past couple of weeks, I have been going out with a black girl, and I've really started to like her. The problem is, my mom and step dad are racist. I knew they were, but this is ridiculous. When I told my mom I was going out with a black girl she said things like, "If you date a black girl, a white girl is never going to want to go out with you." and "Don't date outside the race." This is bad, because she will never let me go out when I want to, and I have to make up excuses to go out.

I'm not going to listen to her ever, and its really starting to make me angry! Its gotten to the point when I've had to leave the house to avoid her racism. My dad on the other hand, is a great guy. He was joking around with me on the phone when my brother told him what my mom said and he said, "Remember Will, always date outside the race." That got me laughing.

I can't ever go to my dad for help because he lives out of the country, so that makes it a little difficult to just get up and go chill out at his house, which sucks because hes so fun.

Hey, give it time - I'm sure your mum will come round to choosing you over racism.

Your parents are living in the past. Tell them to grow up.

Thats pretty sad, how the people of the older generation still act like that, I mean yes im sure everyone has said something racist (black or white) but what your mum is saying is out of order, so what you could do is invite her round and see what your mum does and if she is racist towards her she can just report her.

If your parents loved you they'd accept what ever you decide to do with your life. If not, tell them to butt out and that it's your choice.
