Were you there? ...there for what?. Why for the water balloons mini-game beta of course. What!?

First of all let me apologise if you couldn't make it. This was a surprise, spur of the moment, testing which only a handful of people (including myself ^^) were able to test.

Today, Lasuni released the beta of the upcoming water ballloons mini-game. Which, if you don't already know, will be a seasonal mini-game released every summer to allow us to through water balloons at each other and earn points. While the beta was great fun, it did lag a lot. However, I am sure this will be fixed now that they know of the issue. That's what betas are for anyway, to find bugs.

Water Balloons!

The water balloons were released in the catalogue in a wide variety of colours. I managed to stock myself up with a fair amount and started to really have some fun.

The controls during the beta were simple. You move beside the Lasoon you would like to target, click them to aim, then select the fire button at the bottom right of the screen. Very simple but great fun.

This beta lasted for roughly 10 minutes before the balloons were removed from the catalogue (all water balloons were priced at a reasonable 2 each) and we are presuming it won't be long until they release the mini-game officially.

Again, sorry if you couldn't be a part of this. Although do not fret, I managed to make a small recording of the water balloons in action. Check it out by clicking on the image below:

Lastly, a few statistics for you! According to Jason, a total of 1,632 water balloons were sold in the 10 minutes they were released which totalled to 3,264 ! So it's fair to say this beta was pretty successful. Also, rumours are floating around that a snowball throwing mini-game will be available for us during the winter season. So let's keep an eye out for that.

Looks a bit boring. Needs more animation when throwing them and when it hits the character. Such as the character kind of arching back or something. Also there is no gravity in Lasuni apparently being that the balloons were thrown as if they were shot out from some sort of cannon. They need to be curved a bit.

Thats just a few things wrong with it. Looks decent.

I agree some sort of animation needs to be added. However adding gravity/arc movement will make it too complicated. You will need to guess how far back to stand so it hits the target and not the ground. I think maybe just add an animation of the balloon rotating like a boomerang would suffice imo.

Hand throwing movements would be nice. Hitting the avatar may not matter as much for now, but throwing does. It look like the just appear our of the Lasuni body.

Is there actually a point to it? It just sounds like you buy some balloons in the shop and throw them at whoever you want. Hopefully that's not the case.

All hits are logged. They are still working on some sort of stats system/highscores board.
