Cape Noir FAQ's
Here are a few frequently asked questions… and by frequently i mean, someone asked us once at some time or another. I know you said in your previous post you would not be building a new social network, does this mean you will be focusing mainly on the client, or are you planning on building some social features into the website itself? Cape noir focuses mainly on the client and on our back end data management. You can register on cape noir through a form but that is not the preferred method and is a sub option. The best way to join is to connect through outside social networks. This gathers your account data for you and is a one click process. This gives us the benefit of customising the users experience to suit their personal preferences. You then simply walk into cape noir from your choice of social network connecting you with other users. How do you plan to pay for hosting and developers? Because we are a small independent group much of the work done on Cape Noir is done by us. Currently i am funding the start of the project and in the near future we will be heavily reliable on donations, we will never ask for them, but the option is there for those who like the project. After that the future is unknown, I'm not a fan of adverts but its more than likely in the distant future we will need small out of the way adverts to help fund hosting. What made you decide to target older users? I would have thought that the majority of people interested in something like this would be teenagers. The younger audience is already a market captured by games, bright colours and 'fun entertainment'. Habbo is already the market leader in MMOCCs especially for that age gap. Focusing on an older audience means we have a free market to capture and allows us to create a great social application that does not yet exist and who's users will not already have expectations of the MMOCC conventions. changing the concept of an MMOCC from a 'game' to a social application repurposes the familiar environment into a use for a different audience. Who is on our team? I am currently the creative director and take care of design, web and api integration. Phil is currently PR, management marketing. We also have a developer lined up to help create an early version, his further participation is a unknown area but he has not started as yet. Currently our team is small as we are leaving the planning stage and moving into production we are still searching for more members. Over the next few weeks we will be looking to increase our ranks. RE: Cape Noir FAQ's
What else will set the game apart besides the age limit and graphics?

RE: Cape Noir FAQ's
I believe you can refer to one of Xander's posts to answer that question!
"......and refocuses on the social side of the net. I refer to it as more of a web application or service rather than a 'game' due to the lack of a motivational objectives. We don't expect people to play in order to collect items or gain points the same way other social services have no motivational objective. Most social services have little to none live interaction and participation between its users and while we are not creating a new social network we will be providing a gateway for users of these services, that is the aim of Cape Noir. To create a connectable massively multiplayer online chat community that refocuses on the social net." Quawn Contact "wiz@quawn.com" for job opportunities, partnership, sponsorship, inquires |
