While it was fun watching every message I sent be treated as Spam and contacting Willy privately to unban me every time I wanted to make a post. It's finally disabled. Thank god!

Users when banned should be able to send a message to a Admin. Or be able to post in a support thread. Or something similar. Being banned for telling someone "Welcome to the community! Enjoy your stay." is spam then we're all in trouble.


I'm pretty sure it has to do with my short name. But then again... that's still more reasons to not use the pitiful plugin.

We've updated the system so banned users can still use the PM system to contact admins. We're sorry for you not liking the Akismet plugin, but we have to do something to deal with the spam.

You aren't preventing spam if no new user can post a message and then being flagged as a spammer. You may want to set the plugin up where it puts the users in a certain group to be reviewed by a Admin/mod. That way after you have checked said messages. If what is being posted is actually spam, then thats where the Akismet System should warrant a ban. Otherwise remove the user from getting tagged as Spam. Which seems my account loves being tagged.
